Chinese Association of Greater Toledo
The Chinese Association of Greater Toledo, established in 1965, is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) with a clear mission of promoting Chinese culture, tradition, language and business in the region; passing on our proud heritage to the local community; and providing community support programs to the members as well as other groups in the area. We are dedicated to promoting both personal and professional development of our members, creating an avenue for bridging the two greatest countries, China and the USA. The CAGT membership is open to all Chinese and other individuals with an interest in the CAGT activities or a desire to learn about China and Chinese culture and language. The CAGT does not have any religious or political interests and membership is open regardless of origin, gender, race, religious belief or political background. Through our organized activities, significant enrichment will be added to our daily lives. There are several thousand Chinese in the Greater Toledo area involved in business, education, research, or simply visiting. One of the greatest challenges for our group is not only to adapt to the new cultural environment, but also to add the value of our heritage to the local community. With accelerating economic development in China, we anticipate a fast-growing number of Chinese in the population and an increase in exchanges of education, business, and cultural and social programs. The CAGT has a natural fit with these imminent changes. The mission and goals of CAGT are supported by our partners such as the Association of Chinese Faculty and Staff at the University of Toledo, the Toledo Sister Cities International and Families with Children from China.
A Message from Our President
CAGT serves as a platform in the Greater Toledo area to promote Chinese culture and connect all individuals in our community together through our various events and activities. I want to express my sincere gratitude to our entire Board for their dedication and commitment, our members for their support, and our volunteers for their tireless hard work and the sacrifice of their precious time. We welcome any new ideas and suggestions on how CAGT can better serve you and your family.
